Fees & Rebates.

  • Please ring or email us if you would like to make an appointment or to discuss our services. Appointments are available during and outside business hours.

    Standard Sessions:

Most sessions are 50 minutes in duration and usually weekly or fortnightly but will be tailored to your individual needs.

  • Haven provides partially rebated sessions through Medicare and Private Health Insurances.

You do not need a referral from a doctor to see a psychologist. However, if you obtain a mental health care plan from your GP or psychiatrist you may be eligible for up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year. Please discuss with your treating doctor or visit: www.psychology.org.au for more information.

Fees vary depending on the type of consultation and the length of the session. Fees charged at Haven Psychological Services are lower then the recommended fee set by the Australian Psychological Society National Schedule of Recommended Fees. Havens fees are under these recommendations to make them more affordable. Full payment must be made at the time of consultation with your psychologist. Please contact us on 0437 828 130 for more information. In addition, you may be eligible for a concession fee if you are a full-time student paying for yourself.

    Partially Rebated Medicare Options:

    For 50 Minute Telehealth Sessions:

For 50-minute telehealth appointments a Medicare rebate of $92.90 applies if you have a mental health care plan from your doctor. You will need to provide Haven with a referral letter and the mental health care plan from your GP/Psychiatrist before your first session. You will receive your Medicare rebate immediately into your bank account when paying for your session during office hours.

    25 Minute Telehealth Sessions:

For 25- minute telehealth appointments a Medicare rebate of $65.85 applies if you have a mental health care plan from your doctor. You will need to provide Haven with a referral letter and the mental health care plan from your GP/Psychiatrist before your first session. You will receive your Medicare rebate immediately into your bank account when paying for your session during office hours.

    Private Health Insurances:

Many private health insurers offer rebates for psychological services. Often no referral is necessary. Please check with your health fund for further details about your cover and their claims process. Upon full payment a Haven invoice will be emailed to you for claiming purposes.

    Private Clients:

Services can be accessed without a referral as a private client. Fees apply as outlined above.

    Correspondence:

Reports/letters/liaison with other services/stakeholders will incur a fee of $143.00 per 30 minutes (e.g., communication beyond a brief letter confirming attendance to counselling. Might include emails, phone calls, support documents etc.).

    Payment:

When you book your initial appointment, you will be asked to provide your credit/debit card details. This information will be stored securely in our healthcare management System.

You need to pay the full fee on the day of your appointment and with your permission our healthcare management system will process the rebate for you, and forward to your nominated bank account.

  • Medicare rebated and private pay appointments

Our Haven Psychological Services policy for missed appointments, reschedules and cancellations is in line with the recommendations for private practice from our psychology peak bodies (The Australian Psychological Society, Australian Association of Psychologists inc). This policy is necessary to ensure that Haven can continue to operate as a small business.

If you cannot attend, need to reschedule, or cancel your appointment - you need to give at least 24 hours notice or 100% of the usual fee will be charged. If you give notice within 48 hours, only 50% of the usual fee will be charged. Please note that no rebates are paid by Medicare for missed appointments.
